    Beautiful and Functional Pottery

I make functional ceramic items people can use in their daily life and that relate to each other. You can build a collection of my work that visually relates to each other. I use a white clay that is half porcelain and half white stoneware. All of my work is high-fired to over 2,000 degrees, which means it is exceptionally durable and can withstand a microwave, dishwasher or oven. All glazes are lead-free and food safe. Check out my work for the kitchen, the home and the garden.

  • Meet Sari

I have always had the desire to create three-dimensional forms from one dimensional. Sewing was my first love. Then I took pottery classes and the concept of making something beautiful from a lump of clay - very much like making a garment from a length of cloth

    - just fit my aesthetic. A form is not finished until I have embellished it. I have a vast collection of items that create texture - buttons, wooden stamps and even objects from nature like sticks and stones.

I have been a potter for more than 40 years, having graduated from Kent State University with a B.S. in Art Education. I am a founding member of the Canton Potters' Guild, now known as the Canton Ceramic Artists Guild. I am a member of Ohio Designer Craftsmen and the Potter's Council.

My work has been exhibited at the Canton Museum of Art, the North Canton Little Art Gallery, the Massillon Museum of Art and Malone University. I have taught children's pottery classes at the Canton Museum of Art and demonstrated pottery in Canton City Schools.

    Butter Options

How do you like to serve butter, in a crock or in a covered dish? Well, here are two choices.

    Candle Columns

I call these candle columns. With a lit candle inside, they cast lovely shadows through the leaf-shaped openings.

    Flowers

A bouquet of flowers! I layered lots of glazes and even sprinkled crushed glass that melts in the firing.
Each is about 5 inches across and sold with a 3-foot copper rod so you can "plant" them in your garden and even use them as plant stakes. Something will always be blooming!

    Mortar and Pestles

Here is a series of mortars and pestles. More and more home cooks are finding that freshly ground spices add so much more flavor to their cooking. Try it with a stylish set of your own.

    Mustard Pots

Mustard pots with sweet little wooden spoons. They measure about 3 inches high.
